We have a large selection of books, pamphlets/Leaflets and DVDS on a variety of subjects including

All of which may be loaned free of charge to clients.
A small contribution towards the cost of some leaflets may be requested.
SLINGS AND CARRIERS
We carry a small selection of slings and baby carriers which we sell for the rrp. We have a try before you buy policy and for a small deposit you may borrow one or two slings to see which suits you and your baby best.
The Coorie Pouch Sling
Coorie is the old Scots word for cuddle or snuggle and these fleece pouch slings are perfect to snuggle up with your little one. Available in five sizes, they are worn diagonally across the body and baby sits in the pouch in front. This is a very easy sling to wear and ideal for babies and toddlers alike. Parents of babies love the Coorie pouch sling for it’s secure cradling of their baby, while toddlers’ parents find the ease with which their little one can get in and out of the pouch really helpful. As it is a non-adjustable sling, please make sure you order the correct size by checking the measurement table SEE BELOW. The sling is made to fit the wearer and not the baby so one sling will see you from birth through to toddlerhood
This sling is made from polar fleece which has a bit of ‘give’ in it making in incredibly comfortable for the wearer and the baby.

Measuring for a Pouch Sling:
Coorie fleece pouch slings are ready made and come in 5 sizes (size 1-5).
To find out what size you should order, measure from your left shoulder to the top of your right hip (the VERY top of your hip!) passing the tape measure diagonally across your front. Match your measurement to the table below and you will see which size you need.
Adult Slings:
1: Extra Small: 51 - 55cm (20-22 inches)
2: Small: 56 - 61cm (22-24 inches)
3: Medium: 62 - 66cm (24-26 inches)
4: Large: 67 - 71cm (26-28 inches)
5: Extra Large: 72 – 77cm (28-30 inches)

Why carry your baby?
More and more research is drawing to the conclusion that carrying your baby is better than pushing them in a pram. The main advantages of carrying your baby are:
- Babies know that they are safe and secure, and have a solid sense of self-esteem, as well as encouraging bonding with the carer.
- It can prevent or minimise colic and crying in young babies.
- Carried babies spend more time in the 'quiet alert' state, which is the optimum state for learning.
- At eye-level view, babies can be at the centre of activity rather than the centre of attention.

Exchanges
One of the drawbacks of buying wraps and slings from the internet is that you can’t try your purchases on before you buy them, because of this we offer a 14 day exchange. The sling or wrap must be returned in its original packaging and should not of been laundered(slings which have been washed, smell of perfume, body odour or smoke, or have animal hair on them will not be considered for exchange) along with notice of your name and address, the sling you are returning and alternative size required. Where possible, a sling of the same colour will be sent, however, as the fabrics used are often in limited supply, please also include a preferred colour alternative.
We recommend that when returning any item you use the Royal Mail’s recorded delivery service. We cannot accept responsibility for any parcel which goes missing.
However if you live locally we are able to offer a try before you buy ,at a cost of £5 for a 2 week loan .Please note there is not a choice of colours on the try before you buy it is merely an opportunity for you to try one or two different slings.
We are also able to come and do sling and carrier demonstrations/talks at antenatal groups and new Mum groups (A group of friends may wish to invite us along to your home where we will bring a selection for you try). THIS IS A FREE SERVICE.
