ABOUT CONFIDENT MOTHER

Hello my name is Yvonne and first and foremost I am a Wife and Mother, as well as being the founder of Confident Mother.

My background is in Nursing and until June 2006 I was working as an RGN Sister in General Practice, caring for individuals and whole families with a wide range of medical conditions. Prior to that, I have worked in Paediatrics, A & E and Theatre.

I hold a City and Guilds 7307 Adult Education Teaching Certificate and have Diplomas/Certificates in many aspects of Nursing Including Asthma, Diabetes, Family Planning and Counselling.

As a women, I believe that giving birth and becoming a mother are the most fulfilling things you will ever do,and from my own experience I know the value and importance of having the support of other likeminded women during this precious time .

I am passionate about “the family” and believe that motherhood is the very essence of who we are as women.

As well as completing a recognised Birth and Post Natal Doula course, I have completed courses on:

• Baby Calming
• Birth Crisis
• Paediatric First Aid
• Basic Food Hygiene
• Breastfeeding

As well as the above I have attended many conferences and talks on various issues related to Birth and caring for the newborn and parenting.

I am a member of The Association of Breastfeeding Mothers and am currently undertaking a breastfeeding Counsellors course.

I have experience working with Twins and babies with special needs i.e epilepsy and cleft pallet.

I work closely with other health related professionals in the East Midlands in Particular Denise Pemberton a lactation Consultant.

I hold a current drivers License, am fully insured and have been CRB checked.
